Starry night

Van Gogh was considered insane

trapped within the cold bricks of his asylum, cherishing each bristle to his paintbrush

that stroked masterpieces of a depressing reality — 

a supposed figment of his twisted mind

 

But now

blood flows down the corner of each street, unnoticed

as people retreat into their cold brick homes with razors

evolution allowing them to hear the sounds of their motionless

lives with a single ear

And each possesses their own kind of paintbrush

because Vincent wasn’t all that peculiar, they think
